'Willow Tree’ - the title track and lead single from Tom Speight’s new EP, is a melodic, beautiful piece. A haunting guitar riff is backed by ethereal keys and strings, creating a luscious sonic backdrop for Tom’s distinctive, impassioned vocal. Joining forces with Jessica Staveley-Taylor from The Staves, their voices compliment each other wonderfully to create some truly amazing harmonies.

Speaking on the track, Tom says: We recorded around 11pm at night..all huddled around playing live next to each other..there was something really special about it because it felt so human. I was listening to a lot Laura Marling and Damien Rice around the time and I think their methods definitely help shape this EP. 'Willow Tree' is definitely my favourite track Chris Bond has produced of mine..he gave it a really warm texture and depth that the recording required. I also feel like it's my least comprised recording to date because of they way we tracked it.

Having previously landed support slots for the likes of Fleet Foxes, Jake Bugg, Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran, Travis and Bastille, Tom will shortly return to the UK stage, performing three intimate shows to coincide with the launch of his new EP.

Tom has enjoyed incredible support from Spotify throughout his career, with his first three EPs having amassed an incredible 6m streams. Spotify’s editorial team are firmly behind Tom and continue their support leading into the release of his 4th EP ‘Willow Tree’.

The final chapter in a quartet of EPs, ‘Willow Tree’ follows on from Tom’s three EPs released in 2016. Support for his music has grown steadily over the past year, culminating in his most recent single, ‘Love’, being playlisted by BBC Radio 2.
